The Daily Mail  wrote a week ago -‘Assisted suicide ‘is legalised’ by police: Secret new guidelines from senior officers mean deaths are not investigated…. Tory MP Mark Pritchard, who is vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Pro-Life Group, said: ‘I fear assisted suicide is being legalised by the back door. If the will of Parliament is being ignored, there should be an urgent review by the Justice Secretary.’

Ethical scenarios regarding assisted suicide are common at medical school interviews and it is a subject that is rarely out of the news. Lord Falconer will bring a Private Members Bill to the House of Lords later this year which will ensure it remains in the spot light.  As in all ethical problems you need to ensure you present a balanced argument. – My answer next week.
